Editorial Process

Editorial and Review Process

Iqra Islamica maintains a rigorous and transparent editorial policy designed to ensure the publication of high-quality, original, and ethically sound research. The journal strictly follows a double-blind peer review process, ensuring that both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the evaluation process.

Each submitted manuscript is initially screened by the editorial board to confirm that it aligns with the journal’s aims, scope, and formatting standards. Manuscripts that meet these criteria are then forwarded to at least two subject specialists for in-depth evaluation. The reviewers assess the paper based on academic quality, originality, clarity, and contribution to the field.

If revisions are suggested, the editorial office communicates these comments to the authors for modification and improvement. The final decision regarding acceptance or rejection is made based on the reviewers’ recommendations and the quality of revisions submitted.

Publication Workflow

  1. Acknowledgment: The submitted manuscript is acknowledged via email within 24 hours of receipt.

  2. Initial Screening: The editorial board evaluates the paper for relevance, quality, plagiarism, and compliance with journal guidelines.

  3. Peer Review: Qualified reviewers (minimum two) are invited to assess the manuscript anonymously. The review process generally takes two to three weeks.

  4. Review Reports: Reviewer feedback is compiled and shared with the author(s) along with editorial comments and specific revision instructions.

  5. Revision Process: Authors are requested to submit the revised manuscript within a specified time (usually seven days). Revisions are re-evaluated by the same reviewers, if necessary.

  6. Decision: Based on the reviewers’ reports, the editorial board may decide to accept, reject, or request further modifications. Articles requiring extensive revision may be rejected after the second review.

  7. Acceptance & Proofreading: Once accepted, the article undergoes proofreading. The author receives a final proof to confirm accuracy before publication.

  8. Online Publication: The approved article is published online first. Authors are informed via email and provided with the publication link. Any critical corrections must be requested within three days of online release.

  9. Print Publication: The print edition is issued within one week of the online release. Authors are requested to confirm their correct postal address within three days after print publication.

  10. Dispatch of Copies: Complimentary print copies of the journal are mailed to the authors within one month of print publication.
